Basildon Council (UK) is looking for partners and potentially, a lead partner for an URBACT funded project. The Council is interested particularly to hear from Local Authority partners from all areas, that would like to work collaboratively to develop strategies, share best practice and pilot actions. Ideally, potential partners would have a similar make up and history to Basildon including, being part industrial, historic with new town areas and a mix of communities.
The aim of the project is to carry out research in to Basildon area's identity and strengths to create strategies for a more sustainable community. The project will also engage with local communities through working with schools and hard to reach groups, and developing the use of digital media. All interested parties are invited to an initial lunch meeting on October 8th at 13.30 at the East of England Partnership Office (rue du Trône 4, B-1000 Brussels) to scope out ideas and discuss a potential project concept.
