EU-Project "EUGEM - EUropaGEMeinde Steiermark"

The Municipality: Gate to the European Union

Under the supervision of the Department for European Affairs and External Relations, 18 partners of "Platform Europe" participate in the "EUGEM"-project. Apart from the Association of Towns and Municipalities, we have social partners, who provide a pool of experts, as well as regional managements, churches, the Regional Department of Youth Services and the Regional Chief Inspector of Schools.
Under the supervision of the Department for European Affairs and External Relations, 18 partners of "Platform Europe" participate in the "EUGEM"-project. The EU-project "EUGEM - EUropaGEMeinde" is coordinated by the Department for European Affairs and External Relations of the Regional Government of Styria in cooperation with "Platform Europe Styria." From May 2005 to May 2006, we have supported European activities in Styrian municipalities, including

  • EUGEM-Qualifikationsseminare for all municipal bodies
  • the installation of Europe-Service-Centers and
  • grass-roots events about Europe in forty EUGEM-municipalities and cities in Styria
