Sarajevo (November 11, 2021) - Looking for potential partners, the coordination team for the Western Balkans  set off on a trip to Sarajevo and returned with positive feedback and contacts that have now been set in stone.

Sarajevo Canton is a centre of administration, business, education, culture and social life, and as such, is an interesting partner region for Styria. It is of even more interest as a Styrian partner region given that the cabinet of the Canton's Prime Minister Edin Forto and the Minister of Culture and Sport Samir Avdic have expressed their interest in intensifying relations with the State of Styria by establishing a formal partnership.

A partnership with Sarajevo Canton would offer a whole range of possibilities for cooperation. The coordination team met representatives from NGOs working in the areas of art and culture, youth, voluntary associations, and education. The managing directors of "KULT - Institute for Youth Development", the "Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures" initiative, the Boris Divkovic Foundation, and the War Childhood Museum would be pleased to connect with Styrian partners and organise joint projects.

Future cooperation may also build on the support of the Association of Municipalities and Cities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the network of the committed team of the Austrian Embassy and the Austrian Cultural Forum in Sarajevo.
