The European and International Affairs Unit is Styria's voice as well as its eyes and ears in the European Union. We represent Styrian interests in European politics, communicate EU matters to Styrian stakeholders and the wider public, and we advise on EU issues. Furthermore we co-ordinate the active foreign and neighbourhood policy of Styria with numerous partner regions worldwide; we also organise the development co-operation activities of the State of Styria.
Welcome to the Unit for European and International Affairs
We take part in shaping Europe by representing Styria in the EU and consulting policy-makers, administrative bodies and citizens. The European Union is not something that happens in Brussels; it happens here. This is why we talk about Europe in Styria and with the people in Styria. Foreign and neighbourhood policy is indispensable for regions such as Styria that have an international focus. Styria lives up to its global responsibility and plays an active part in development policy.
